In Groot-Britannië is Angus Deayton, de populaire presentator van het satirische programma ?Have I got news for you?? door de BBC ontslagen.

Vanaf de zomer circuleerden berichten in de Britse zondagskranten over Deaytons privé-leven.
Ontslagreden: ?Iemand die zelf de koppen van de kranten haalt, kan er moeilijk nog commentaar op leveren.?

Deayton zou cocaïne hebben gebruikt, samen met zijn minnares en een prostituée. O, o, wat erg! Daar bleef het niet bij:

• In May 2002 another UK tabloid, the News of the World reported that Deayton had nights of cocaine and sex with a hooker, Caroline Martin, without realising she was a call girl - allegedly.

According to the News of the World Deayton's "technique was incredible". His knowledge of sexual practices was, we were told, so extensive that it would put the Kama Sutra to shame. At one stage, Ms Martin said she nearly asked him to stop so she could "ask exactly what he was doing" for the benefit of her "next boyfriend". -

Als deze Engelse fatsoensrakkerij naar Nederland overslaat, zal geen enkele presentator zijn baan verliezen.
